James Bergoffen
President
Started Riverside Specialty Chemicals in 1995 after 17+ years trading metals and specialty chemicals, with a particular focus on vanadium. Over 40 years developing technical and commercial contacts worldwide. B.Comm from McGill University and an MA in Asian Studies from Washington University; fluent or conversant in English, French, Spanish, German and Japanese.
George Murray
Plant Manager — Elkton, Maryland
Joined Riverside in 2006 with 26 years of manufacturing and plant operations experience. Manages day-to-day operations at the Elkton, Maryland facility and oversees planning for future expansions. His commitment to detailed manufacturing practices keeps RSC's reputation for consistently high-purity products.
Markus Schatz
Director, Sales & R&D
Joined Riverside in 2011, responsible for worldwide sales, new customer relations, and R&D projects. Previously led international sales of vanadium chemicals and metal powders for a major European producer. PhD in chemistry and an MBA, both from Friedrich-Alexander-University Erlangen-Nürnberg; TÜV quality management representative. Fluent in German and English.
Susanne Gayle
QA Manager
Joined Riverside in 2019. As QA Manager she builds, tests and improves quality standards so products meet internal and external specifications before shipment, and ensures adherence to ISO, federal, state and local regulations. Bachelor's in Forensics, with over 10 years of investigative experience with the City of New York and the state of Delaware.
